Phyllis Nomura Joins First Sound Bank As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
SEATTLE, Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Phyllis Nomura has joined First Sound Bank (OTCBB: FSWA) as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Having most recently served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Core Business Bank, she brings to First Sound significant regulatory, accounting, finance and management experience in banking, investments and finance.
Nomura began her career in 1994 with Deloitte, where she rose to senior manager and spent ten years as an auditor in public accounting before joining the banking sector. Over the succeeding years, Nomura served in various accounting and finance, operations and regulatory leadership roles for First Security Bank of Washington, Viking Bank, Washington Mutual and Core Business Bank.
Nomura, who is a 1991 graduate of Grand Valley State University with a BBA in Accounting, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Bankers Association CFO Committee. A current board member of WestSide Baby, serving on both its Finance and Development committees, Nomura is also a past board member, president and treasurer of ArtsWest and a United Way and Seattle Aquarium volunteer.
