Phusion Projects Captures Corporate Social Responsibility Work with New Website
Phusion Projects Releases Video Showing Recycling of Four Loko Product to Produce Ethanol
CHICAGO, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Phusion Projects, LLC, manufacturer of Four Loko, launched the Phusion Cares website today, highlighting the company's community involvement, employee activities and charitable giving. The company is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where Phusion Projects employees live and work.
The new site highlights Phusion Projects' corporate giving activities and the company's hands-on approach to helping communities at the local level. Phusion Projects is partnering with food banks around the country to combat hunger. Each month, one of the company's co-founders will accompany local employees to a local food bank to help package food for distribution and to provide a charitable donation. The company sets aside a percentage of its annual profits to fund a number of other charities as well, including past donations to the American Cancer Society, Phoenix Children's Hospital, United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona, the East Los Angeles Boys, Girls Club, Helping Hands of South Africa and Ronald McDonald House.
Phusion Projects has also released a new video on the website depicting their recent Ethanol Conversion Initiative, in which large quantities of the first version of the Four Loko product were recycled to produce ethanol. This initiative followed the voluntary reformulation of Four Loko in November 2010 to remove caffeine, guarana and taurine from the product. Phusion Projects instructed its distributors and retailers to remove the existing version of Four Loko from store shelves and identified an environmentally friendly way to repurpose the unused product. The amount of Four Loko recycled is enough to fuel 8,000 cars for one year, and the aluminum cans, water, cardboard packaging and shipping pallets were also recycled.
To initiate even more community involvement, Phusion Projects also offers an employee matching program for contributions to non-profit organizations or institutions and encourages employees to get involved at the local level.
"At Phusion Projects, we know that any company can give money, but nothing replaces action and hard work," said Chris Hunter, one of the three co-founders of Phusion Projects. "We are dedicated to improving the communities in which we work. All of us here at Phusion Projects enjoy rolling up our sleeves and volunteering our time to the organizations we believe in."
