PhotoPunch Image Mashup App Launches on Android for Free
Create One of a Kind Images, Embellish and Share On-the-Go with the World's First Automatic Image-Punching App
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SK Planet today announced the launch of PhotoPunch, a free image altering app for Android that allows users to accurately punch out objects from one photo, and paste into another. PhotoPunch enables users to create photo mashups with content from their mobile photos or images off the web. Users can then share their creative mashups with the in-app PhotoPunch community as well as their followers on Facebook and Twitter. PhotoPunch is the first automatic image-punching app, putting an end to mindless photo sharing and making it fun and easy for users to create, share and inspire followers with one of a kind images on the go.

"Until PhotoPunch, users had to utilize numerous editing tools and apps to create this comical punch out effect," said Michael Lesniak, Product Manager for PhotoPunch at SK Planet. "The nature of the app and tools provided lend themselves to creating meme-like content with the ability to go viral. We've designed the app to promote creative, funny and inspiring images that leave friends and family smiling."
By tapping on the "Punch" button, users can choose to take a new photo from within the app, select a photo from their mobile gallery or search the web for an image to "Punch." Once the user chooses their first image, they simply use their finger to draw an outline around the object in the image they want to punch out. The app auto-recognizes the object and punches it out to create an isolated image, or "Punch Shot." Users can then hit the "Background" tab, where they can choose the second photo that acts as the backdrop for the Punch Shot. Users can select the background image from a gallery of pre-populated sample images in addition to being able to choose from their photo gallery, the web or to take a new photo.
PhotoPunch then places the Punch Shot image as a layer on top of the background image, where users can manipulate the size and rotation of the Punch Shot to fit on the background image at their discretion. Users can embellish the unique image with borders, artistic photo filters and hilarious stickers. Once users have edited the image to their liking, they can create a custom caption before sharing to the PhotoPunch library, Twitter and Facebook.
