As part of the partnership, Watertree Health will distribute their Free Prescription Discount Card to fans in attendance at select Suns and Mercury home games. It can also be downloaded from WatertreeHealthCard.com/Suns. The card provides significant discounts on brand and generic prescriptions and is accepted at most local, regional and national pharmacies in the Phoenix area including Safeway, Frys, Walgreens, Walmart, Target and CVS.
According to Matt Herfield, founder & CEO of Watertree Health, "The high cost of prescription medicines impacts most everyone today, even those with insurance. So the idea that we can help fans of two beloved Phoenix basketball teams pay for their prescriptions, while at the same time supporting the Phoenix Suns philanthropic mission gives our organization great pleasure, and is in line with our core belief of giving back to the community."
Watertree Health will make a donation for every script discounted through this program to the Phoenix Suns Charities, the philanthropic arm of the Phoenix Suns. This organization was formed with the mission to actively create and support programs that enhance the lives of Arizona's children and their families.
"We are thrilled about the new partnership between the Suns, Mercury and Watertree Health, as all three organizations share a commitment to the community," said Suns President, Jason Rowley. "This new venture allows us to introduce our fans to an affordable option in health care while donating to children and families in need throughout Arizona."
