PHMC: Deadline Approaches for Historic Preservation Grants
Applications Due Jan. 31
HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) today encouraged non-profit organizations and local governments to apply for historic preservation project grants before the Jan. 31 deadline.
"This grant program works to preserve, promote and protect Pennsylvania's historic and archaeological resources," said Barbara Franco, executive director of the PHMC. "More specifically, sites must be listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places."
Two levels of funding are available. Grant awards below $10,000 do not require matching local funds. If state funding is between $10,001 and $25,000, an equal local match is required. Grants are awarded through a competitive selection process and are contingent on availability of funds.
Grant applicants are required to use the web-based electronic application process, eGrant. For guidelines and instructions, visit www.phmc.state.pa.us and select "Grants and Funding" on the top navigation bar.
