Phillips Edison Announces Registration as an Investment Adviser
CINCINNATI, March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Phillips Edison & Company Ltd. today announced that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") has granted the Company's registration as an Investment Adviser under Section 203(c) of the Investment Adviser Act of 1940. The registration is effective immediately.
"In the past, Phillips Edison has managed its associated real estate funds for institutional and high net worth investors with a fiduciary standard and compliance procedure similar to the requirements of a registered investment adviser," noted Robert F. Myers, president of Phillips Edison & Company. "As a Registered Investment Adviser ("RIA"), we will continue to manage our family of funds and our investors' capital in this manner, but with the added oversight of the SEC."
Although registration as an Investment Adviser does not imply a certain level of skill or training, RIAs are subject to ongoing SEC regulation.
