Philips showcases integrated vascular solutions at VEITH 2017

AMSTERDAM and NEW YORK, Nov. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, today announced that it will be showcasing its integrated vascular solutions comprising interventional X-ray systems, diagnostic and therapeutic devices, planning and navigation software and services at the 2017 VEITHsymposium (VEITH) in New York, New York (November 14 - 18, 2017). At the symposium, Philips will launch PVDandMe.com, a new patient education website providing resources on peripheral vascular disease (PVD) to help patients improve their quality of life.

One in every 20 Americans over the age of 50 has peripheral artery disease (PAD), a common peripheral vascular disease. If left untreated, PAD can become a serious condition linked to severe complications and an increased risk of a heart attack and stroke [1]. Since peripheral vascular disease often has few symptoms, the need for understanding of the condition and integrated solutions offering personalized care is extremely critical. Philips' new patient website provides information about common peripheral vascular disease conditions, signs, symptoms, causes and risk factors. Philips also has launched a complementary PVD site for healthcare providers, Philips.com/PVDresources, with tools to help clinicians establish an office-based laboratory, improving practice workflow and educating colleagues.
