Philips Hits the Road with 10-City LED Light Experience
Interactive mobile exhibit sheds light on LED technology, demonstrating how science, energy-efficiency and design come together to help consumers light their homes
SOMERSET, N.J., Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy-saving, long-lasting and aesthetically-pleasing LED light bulbs have taken the lighting industry by storm … and now they have entered the U.S. home, thanks to Philips. As the first company to introduce the 60 and 75 watt LED equivalents to the incandescent bulb, Philips Lighting will be demonstrating to consumers what LED light can do for their homes and utility bills at the Philips LED Light Experience. A fun, educational and free interactive mobile exhibit, the tour will visit 10 U.S. cities with 24 tour stops this fall.

- Learn designer tips for using long-lasting LED bulbs to give their home a "lightover."
- See firsthand where science meets style, and compare the quality of the new, energy-efficient LED bulbs vs. standard incandescent bulbs.
- Register to win the Home Lightover Sweepstakes – a one-day consultation from a professional home designer and $5,000 to use toward the home lightover.
- Get great freebies, like Philips AmbientLED A19 bulbs, gift cards and other great prizes.
"Consumers are eager to see for themselves the benefits of LED lighting technology, and the Philips LED Light Experience will help them understand the best applications for LED bulbs in their home, how LED bulbs can mimic the soft glow of an incandescent, as well as how they can last 25 times longer," said Peter Soares, Director, Consumer Channel Marketing, Philips Lighting. "With LED bulbs, you are seeing a shift in lighting from a disposable, commodity product like the incandescent bulb, to a small, durable appliance that can provide significant energy savings and high-quality light output for years to come. It is important for Philips to help consumers understand more about this paradigm shift in lighting and the best applications for this technology."
The Philips LED Light Experience will make stops at retailers, trade shows, festivals and other events throughout the U.S. For a complete listing of dates and locations in your area or to register for the Home Lightover Sweepstakes, visit www.ledlightover.com.
