Philip H. Frederick is recognized by Continental Who's Who in the field of Manufacturing

MANITO, Ill., Jan. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- /Continental Who's Who/ -- Philip H. Frederick is recognized by Continental Who's Who in the field of Manufacturing as a result of his role as President (Retired) of Window Tech Systems.

Philip's educational career was spent at the University of Illinois where he earned a B.S. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. While at the University, he received a first place national award from A.I.M.E. for a project entitled "Casting Stainless Steel in Ceramic Molds." Before transferring to the University of Illinois, he studied General Engineering at Bradley University, during which time working at Caterpillar Tractor Company in East Peoria, Illinois.

Prior to establishing Window Tech Systems, Philip contributed to the manufacturing industry's development, processing, and utilization of high temperature, tool steel, and stainless steel alloy products used in multiple segments of the United States' industries while employed by Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation. Later, Philip functioned as Sales Executive in preserving 1,800 employee jobs in newly established Altech Specialty Steel Corporation headquartered in Dunkirk, New York. He retired from this position in 1986 as Vice President of Marketing.

Looking to launch his own company, in 1987 he purchased and operated Stormaster Door & Window Corporation. He served as President and Owner of this company, which resulted in the salvation and maintenance of 25 employee jobs. A little more than ten years later, Philip built a new manufacturing plant near Saratoga Springs, NY and changed the name to Window Tech Systems. In 2004, the New York State Small Business Development Center presented the "Manufacturer of the Year" Award to Philip Frederick – Window Tech Systems. In this role, he continued as President and Owner until his retirement in 2009.

After his retirement, Philip built a log home in Manito, Illinois where he currently serves as President of the Chamber of Commerce and President of a local Business and Manufacturing Committee. Through these two organizations, the Committee Board Members and he are pursuing programs designed to improve jobs and the town's economy.
