THE VILLAGES, Fla., Dec. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Parady Financial Group CEO Greg Parady recently made a remarkable donation to three schools in Florida. A total of 195 laptop computers valued at over $48,500 were delivered to The Villages Elementary of Lady Lake, Stanton-Weirsdale Elementary and Wildwood Elementary. As a surprise!

Parady, who is known throughout the nation for his over-the-top altruism, has a soft spot for kids. "When I met with the schools I learned that the Florida Standardized Assessment Test (FSAT) had been revised to include an essay portion for 4^th and 5^th grade students," he said. "And, as of Spring 2015 the students will have to type the essay."

The Villages, Stanton-Weirsdale and Wildwood Elementary are all considered Title I schools, meaning more than 70% of the student populations receive free or reduced-cost lunches. As Title I schools, they have each received 20 laptops and various educational products via Federal funding. However, as the communities get back on their feet financially, the schools risk losing this status and having to give back the educational materials and computers.

"Losing the Title I status would result in two fewer teachers at each school and the loss of hundreds of books, tests and other materials including the numerous laptops they were previously given. It's unfair," said Parady. "In order to ensure that these students have the resources to do well on their tests I felt compelled to provide them with laptops. We should be setting our students up for success."
