Facebook Inc. Research Reports
On October 14, 2014, The Washington Post reported that Facebook Inc.'s (Facebook) Founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, who is a pediatrician, have donated $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control Foundation to aid in combating the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. Zuckerberg and Chan's contributions were made through their fund at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and was made to the CDC Foundation's Global Disaster Response Fund. According to The Washington Post, the donation from Facebook's founder will be used in fighting Ebola in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone by fulfilling, among other things, equipment, training, transportation, burial support, and contact tracing needs on the ground. Intel Corporation Research Reports
On October 14, 2014, Intel Corporation (Intel) released its Q3 FY 2014 and 9M FY 2014 financial results (period ended September 27, 2014), topping analysts estimates. The Company reported Q3 FY 2014 net revenues of $14.6 billion, up 7.9% YoY, while operating income improved 29.6% YoY to $4.5 billion. The Company's Q3 FY 2014 net income stood at $3.3 billion or $0.66 per diluted share, compared to net income of $3.0 billion or $0.58 per diluted share in Q3 FY 2013. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected the Company to report Q3 FY 2014 EPS of $0.65 on revenue of $14.44 billion. The Company's 9M FY 2014 net revenues improved 5.9% YoY to $41.1 billion, while net income improved 15.0% YoY to $8.0 billion. For Q4 FY 2014, the Company expects revenue to be $14.7 billion, plus or minus $500 million, gross margins to be 64% plus or minus a couple of percentage points.
