FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Nov. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The 6th annual Smart Water Leadership Summit will be held April 23-24, 2018 at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL. The Summit brings together top leaders in facility water management to exchange knowledge on topics related to protecting human health while conserving water and energy and reducing cost.
On Monday, April 23, the Summit will feature a full-day training course titled "Sustainable Comprehensive Water Management Programs for the Built Environment". Dr. William McCoy, Phigenics Chief Technology Officer and author of the International Water Association's book Preventing Legionellosis, says, "This is the only training offering that educates facility management, design, and public health professionals on how to develop a water management program that optimizes the total cost of water systems through improving safety and efficiency. If a building water system is not both safe and efficient, then it is not sustainable."
On Tuesday, April 24, leaders from healthcare, education, hospitality, commercial real estate, government, and academia will share their water management case studies and best practices. Sessions will focus on recent water safety guidance such as ASHRAE 188:2015 and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Requirement (S&C) 17-30, plus water efficiency guidance such as ASHRAE Standards 189.1 and 191P and USGBC LEED IV.
Dr. Vincent Hsu, Epidemiologist and Executive Director of Infection Prevention at Florida Hospital says, "There's no other event like the Smart Water Leadership Summit. The Summit is devoted solely to the management of facility water systems, including Legionella risk management. Attendees will learn how to implement a defensible enterprise program that can be used to optimize the total cost and improve the safety and efficiency of their organization's water systems." Dr. Hsu is presenting on Tuesday, April 24.
