PHI Group Partners With Global Sun Wind & Power Corp. to Provide Hybrid Renewable Energy to Southeast Asia
LOS ANGELES, Calif. and JAKARTA, Indonesia, May 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PHI Group, Inc., (OTCQB: PHIL), (Pinksheets: PHIL.PK), a company focused on energy and natural resources, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Global Sun Wind & Power Corp. (GSWP) to provide patented hybrid renewable energy technologies to countries in Southeast Asia, India, Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Global Sun Wind & Power manufactures one of the most innovative wind turbines in the world on the market today. It also offers complete hybrid power systems incorporating wind, solar, mini-hydro, diesel backup systems and state-of-the art battery storage technologies. GSWP's systems are highly efficient in both grid-connected and off-grid applications.
GSWP's wind turbines will deliver power in the most extreme wind regimens due to its patented "Pivot" linkage. This unique ability for its blades to "helicopter" horizontally in high winds allows for full and efficient operation up to 150 mph, without the need to shut down or de-link from the grid. The same technology that protects GSWP turbines in high winds makes them more efficient in winds as low as 8.5 mph as well. With added advanced electronic controls, this turbine system can operate in 80% of the world's landmass from Class 2 to Class 7 winds. To make this technology even more accessible for rural and off-grid applications, GSWP's tilt-up design eliminates the need for mammoth cranes and infrastructure additions, minimizing environmental impacts and installation costs.
According to the agreement, PHI Group will cooperate with Global Sun Wind & Power to execute its growth plan and provide renewable energy solutions using these patented technologies to the countries of South East Asia (Brunei, Burma, East Timor, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), India, Papua New Guinea and Australia and other geographical areas that are not limited by GSWP's worldwide rights.
Chairman of PHI Group Henry Fahman said, "As we focus on energy and natural resource assets in Southeast Asia, we are delighted to work with Global Sun Wind & Power to provide these advanced and proven renewable energy solutions to respond to the increasing demand of electricity in these countries, both in grid-connected and off-grid applications."
Donald Logsdon, President & CEO Global Sun Wind & Power, said, "We look forward to working with PHI Group to accelerate the applications of our breakthrough system to Southeast Asian countries and other areas in the world and believe that our cooperation will bring about significant mutual benefits for our customers and shareholders."
