HILDALE, Utah, Oct. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In 2003, a small group of industrious men starting pouring driveways and small residential projects in Nevada and Utah.
Fast forward to this year and through hard work, cooperation, happy customers, and dedicated employees, Phaze Concrete is setting the bar across the country in the concrete industry.
Based in Utah, it's easy to overlook Phaze Concrete. But they have proven that reputation and excellent work trumps location.
These four critical services Phaze Concrete offers to their clients for the past decade are:
Flatwork Concrete
Phaze has constructed and finished flatwork concrete from 10,000 square feet to 860,00 square feet buildings. They specialize in distribution centers, large box office stores, and concrete parking lots. This includes heavy-duty paving.
Tilt-Up
Phaze Concrete has experience in tilt-up construction, including large distribution centers, public schools, and post offices.
Multi-level Structures
From seven-story apartment buildings to unique multi-level projects like Spaceport American, Phaze has the experience and knowledge to complete high-rise projects.
Parking Structures
Phaze has constructed a vast array of parking structures, including large and complicated design structures.
While Phaze Concrete has branched out along the west coast for big projects, they are also leading the industry in helping employees better their lives off the worksite.
Employees at Phaze Concrete are excited to work for a contractor that offers an apprenticeship program. The program also includes ACI flatwork finisher certification, and when completed, the worker receives a United States Department of Labor certification.
Also, each registered apprentice has the opportunity their GED. This also extends to each employee's family.
The Department of Labor recognizes Phaze Concrete's program as one of the 37,000 available in the country. Currently, there are 26 Phaze workers enrolled in their cement mason apprenticeship.
Because of the excellent treatment of their employees, Phaze Concrete is armed with a talented staff and work crews who are able to adapt on the fly and overcome obstacles on the worksite.
Other companies in the concrete industry have taken notice of Phaze Concrete's programs and mimicked the treatment of their employees.
Sometimes in the "cut-throat" nature of the industry, it's easy for a company to practice bad ethics to gain the advantage on competitors. Phaze Concrete, though, does not exercise these harmful practices.
Phaze Concrete believes that it can compete on its own merit and reputation. Plus, past clients have spread excellent reviews about Phaze, which has led to future projects.
"What's fair is fair," explains Allred. "If someone is happy with the competitor, then great. We're not out to steal anyone's bacon."
Not only has Phaze invested time and money in bettering their employees' lives, but they are also equipping them with the latest technology. They recently invested in GPS total stations with a fleet of laser screeds and power trowels.
"This new technology has helped Phaze keep up with the Joneses, but I would say in most instances, we are ahead," proclaims Allred.
The future is bright for Phaze Concrete. With President Donald Trump's promises of massive infrastructure spending, this could bode well for Phaze.
Allred has plans to take on more civil construction work like highway paving and bridge overpasses. With around 250 employees at Phaze, they always work hard to deliver projects, big or small, on time or even earlier than expected. In some cases, projects are completed under budget.
This has allowed Phaze Concrete to become a leader in the concrete industry and more companies to trust big projects with their workers.
