PharmaJet receives 2017 Innovation Award in Biosciences

GOLDEN, Colo., May 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PharmaJet^® Inc., the maker of needle-free injection technology, announced today that it received the 2017 Innovation Award in Biosciences.  The award, part of the Colorado Manufacturing Awards, recognized the company for their innovation in manufacturing and teamwork, particularly in their participation in the effort to eradicate Polio.

Polio is a crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease, mainly affecting children under five years old, and there is no cure. As part of its Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), the World Health Organization has been working closely with PATH and the Gates Foundation to clinically evaluate delivery technologies including the PharmaJet Tropis®, to accommodate increases in demand and vaccine supply shortages.¹  Fractional dose polio vaccine delivery has been endorsed by the WHO and the Indian Ministry of Health, as it provides a more cost effective option that will enable routine immunization to more children.
