PharmaForce International: U.S. HEOR Personnel Deployed In a Field Capacity Increased by More Than 50%
In the United States, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) personnel deployed to engage in outcomes discussions at select companies increased by more than 50% in 2016, according to a recent report.
READING, Pa., Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The report published by PharmaForce International shows a 53% increase in field-based HEOR personnel when examining a cross-section of 10 leading pharmaceutical companies profiled in their annual Immunology benchmarking study.
According to Lorrie Berg-Henne, Director of Marketing and Sales at PharmaForce International, companies are relying more heavily on outcomes personnel to discuss the value of pharmacologic treatments with key organized customers in the healthcare marketplace.
"As the pharmaceutical and biotech industries work to enhance relationships with key customers in the payer space, they have opted to increase the number of skilled liaisons to interact with decision makers," Berg-Henne said.
"The increase in health outcomes focus isn't much of a surprise to our firm," Berg-Henne continued. "We have been monitoring the commercial operations landscape within the pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. We knew payers were under great pressure to control costs as they consider different treatment options; this only confirms what we already assumed."
Berg-Henne also explained how many pharmaceutical companies attempt to leverage these expensive assets to the fullest extent. Several of the companies studied utilize highly experienced HEOR liaisons to cover multiple therapeutic areas of interest, rather than having them concentrate on a specific disease state.
PharmaForce International is a competitive intelligence firm with over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, they have become the market leader in commercial operations benchmarking and competitive intelligence. Globally focused, they have the competencies to perform the research required by clients in most of the major pharmaceutical markets in the world including Latin America, Europe, Japan, and the United States.
