PGi Rocks the 2012 American Business Awards(SM) -- Wins Two Prestigious Stevie® Awards
ATLANTA, June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PGi (NYSE: PGI), a global leader in virtual meetings for 20 years, today announced that it has received two Stevie Awards – with Boland T. Jones, PGi founder, chairman and CEO, recognized as the Bronze Stevie Award winner for "Maverick of the Year" and Cora Rodenbusch, Senior Corporate Communications Manager, honored with the Silver Stevie Award for "Communications Professional of the Year."
Jones was recognized for his vision and leadership in repositioning PGi to focus on cloud-based virtual meeting applications. The 2011 launch of iMeet® and GlobalMeet®, led by Mr. Jones, positioned PGi as a software products company, building on its decades of experience as a global communications services provider. Rodenbusch earned her Stevie for her year-long journey, during which she worked from 19 different PGi offices across the globe. Rodenbusch documented her travels in her Digital Nomad series on the PGi Blog and in several guest posts and interviews with other media outlets.
iMeet is PGi's video conferencing solution for business that lets up to 15 people meet face-to-face online – anytime, anywhere from any device. GlobalMeet provides enterprise-class audio and web conferencing that scales to meet the needs of businesses large and small.
"PGi is committed to helping businesses meet in better, more productive and personal ways – a mission we furthered with the launch of our two new virtual meeting products, iMeet and GlobalMeet," said Jones. "We don't just talk the talk, either. Cora's experience of maintaining her productivity while working from around the world with her U.S.-based team is proof that PGi solutions enable mobile and global teams to thrive, despite the boundaries of time and geography."
The American Business Awards is the nation's premier business awards program, with the gold Stevie Award conferred for achievement in business to organizations and individuals in more than 60 nations. Finalists were chosen by more than 140 business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging, and more than 150 members of 10 specialized judging committees determined the Stevie Award placements among the Finalists.
PGi was also selected as a finalist for "Most Innovative Tech Company of the Year," and David Guthrie, PGi's Chief Technology Officer, was selected as a finalist for "Product Management/Executive of the Year." Winners for these categories will be chosen in San Francisco on September 17, 2012.
