SAN FRANCISCO, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of National Volunteer Month in April, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced an unprecedented employee volunteerism goal for the company of 50,000 employee volunteer hours in 2014. This goal is supported by the company's Month of Service program, which will feature over 100 employee volunteer projects throughout Northern and Central California.
"For more than 100 years, PG&E employees have worked, lived and invested their time and energy in the communities they have the privilege to serve," said Chris Johns, President of PG&E. PG&E will also once again partner with the California State Parks Foundation for annual cleanup and restoration projects at California state parks throughout April.
"We are pleased to be working with PG&E for the 13th year in a row," said Elizabeth Goldstein, president of the California State Parks Foundation. "This year's support from PG&E is especially welcome as we commemorate the 150th anniversary of our glorious state parks. Together, we have been able to bring communities of volunteers together to beautify and preserve California's treasured state parks.
