PG&E Appoints Steve Malnight to Vice President Post in Customer Care Organization
SAN FRANCISCO, July 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced the appointment of Steve Malnight as Vice President of Integrated Demand Side Management within the utility's Customer Care organization. Malnight will report to Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Helen Burt. Malnight will be responsible for overseeing customer energy efficiency programs, development of new customer products and services, and customer outreach efforts.
Malnight joined PG&E Corporation in 2002 as an associate in the company's MBA Leadership Program. Since that time, he has held leadership roles at the corporation and the utility as Director of Customer Strategy, Senior Director of Finance, and Special Assistant to the Chairman. Malnight was named Vice President, Renewable Energy, in May 2009. Malnight holds a bachelor's of science in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
As Vice President of Renewable Energy, reporting to Fong Wan, Senior Vice President of Energy Procurement, Malnight oversaw PG&E's renewable generation ownership opportunities, renewable strategy, and investigation of emerging clean technology. Malnight led PG&E's $1.5 billion solar photovoltaic program, which won approval by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and helped bring the utility's Vaca-Dixon Solar Station online. His team was also responsible for negotiating the purchase of the Manzana wind generation plant, which would be the first such plant owned by PG&E if approved by the CPUC.
