PG&E Appoints New Vice President Of Electric Transmission Operations
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) Board of Directors announced today the election of Gregg Lemler as Vice President of Electric Transmission Operations, effective December 1, 2013. Lemler is responsible for overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of PG&E's electric transmission system and its substations, and will report to Executive Vice President of Electric Operations Geisha Williams.
"Gregg proves his commitment to our customers and employees every day," said Tony Earley, Chairman, CEO and President of PG&E Corporation. "He is constantly looking for opportunities to improve every aspect of transmission operations so that our electric service continues to be safe, reliable and affordable for our customers."
Lemler has more than 30 years of experience within the utility industry, including positions in power generation, gas and electric distribution, substation and electric transmission at PG&E. Most recently, Lemler served as senior director of the Transmission System Operations organization. In this role, he has overseen the safe, reliable and compliant operation of the company's electric transmission grid. Lemler has played a key role in delivering reliability improvements for customers, including an initiative to reduce the number of planned outages that customers experience, as well as the development of an industry-leading work method that allows employees to perform work on energized transmission lines using helicopters. This work has helped bring the number of planned and unplanned electric service interruptions experienced by customers to an all-time low.
Lemler received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and his MBA from California State University, Fresno. He is also a recent graduate of the executive business administration and management program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
