PGA TOUR Superstore Awards $5,000 to The First Tee of Greater Dallas
PLANO, Texas, Feb. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PGA TOUR Superstore has announced a $5,000 grant to The First Tee of Greater Dallas to deliver educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
The First Tee of Greater Dallas conducts year-round in-school, after-school, weekend, and summer programs for more than 15,000 young people annually, including 12,000 via 42 area elementary schools enrolled in The First Tee National School Program.
PGA TOUR Superstore will award the check on Saturday, February 23, as part of the PGA TOUR Superstore GOLF EXPO at the Plano store. Young people from The First Tee of Greater Dallas will participate in the event, and the public is invited to attend.
Across the country, PGA TOUR Superstore and its store associates support The First Tee chapters. In addition to grants, PGA TOUR Superstore provides young people with access to state-of-the-art teaching, club fitting and training.
The superstores are owned and operated by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc., whose controlling owner and chairman is Arthur M. Blank, retired Home Depot co-founder and owner of the Atlanta Falcons and a Trustee of The First Tee.

In partnership with The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, PGA TOUR Superstore supports The First Tee chapters reaching young people in Atlanta, Chicago, Paramus, Dallas, Delray Beach, Denver, Myrtle Beach, Naples and Phoenix. PGA TOUR Superstore has announced that it will open a store in East Palo Alto next month.
The Foundation's chairman, Arthur M. Blank, is also chairman of Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, the owner and operator of PGA TOUR Superstore. He became a Trustee of The First Tee in January 2012, committing $1 million to the youth development organization through his family foundation.
