NEW YORK, March 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SiriusXM announced today that PGA TOUR professional Pat Perez and former comedian and caddy turned commentator Michael Collins are teaming up for a new show on the SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio channel.
Perez and Collins – two of the more outgoing personalities in the game of golf – will host Out of Bounds, which will debut today, March 24 (12:00-1:00 pm ET). The monthly show will feature the hosts' often lighthearted view on the game and its headline stories, as well as an entertaining golf conversation with fans and personalities from the PGA TOUR and other sports.
Guests on today's debut include NASCAR driver Brian Vickers and comedian Kevin Nealon, who are both avid golfers.
SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio is available to subscribers nationwide on satellite radios (Sirius channel 208, XM channel 93), on the SiriusXM app and at SiriusXM.com.
"Michael and I have known each other for years and I'm excited about the opportunity to pair up with him on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio," said Perez. "There's no limit to the amount of fun we'll have talking golf and life in general with our listeners and guests. Anyone who knows us knows that neither of us is shy about sharing our opinion, so this will be an authentic and spirited show."
"I feel like the luckiest guy on the planet," said Collins. "Pat and I have talked for a while about doing this kind of no-holds-barred show together and SiriusXM is the perfect forum for it. I don't know which of us is supposed to be the voice of reason. I guess we'll let the listeners figure that out."
"Pat and Michael make an outstanding radio team," said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer. "Both bring to the airwaves a liveliness and passion for the game that is infectious and entertaining and we're excited to share that with our SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio listeners."
Perez, a 14-year PGA TOUR veteran, was born in Phoenix, raised in San Diego and made his way back to the desert after finishing with medalist honors at Q-school late 2001 and receiving his PGA TOUR card in 2002. Perez has earned more than $15 million in prize money over the course of his career. In 2009 he won the Bob Hope Classic in La Quinta, California. To date he has four second place finishes and 43 overall top 10s, including last year's second place finish at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. He officially turned pro in 1997 after a standout career at Arizona State University where he helped lead the Sun Devils to a National Championship in 1996.
Michael Collins has one of the more unique backgrounds among those who cover the game. While performing as a stand-up comedian in the 1990s, he caught the eye of a few PGA TOUR pros and their caddies who saw his act and liked his wit and easygoing personality. This led to a tryout as a PGA TOUR caddy and Michael adjusted to his new stage quickly, helping his players not just with yardage and club selection, but by keeping them relaxed and bringing some fun to the course. Collins worked as a pro caddy for 10 years and went on to become a commentator for SiriusXM's PGA TOUR coverage. He currently also works for ESPN.com as a golf video blogger and writer.
SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio offers the best daily golf talk, news, analysis and instruction on radio.
