P&G Continues 'Thank You Mom' Program with U.S. Paralympic Team; Wants Every Mom in the U.S. Thanked by Mother's Day
Company Will Make Donations to Team USA When Moms are Thanked
CINCINNATI, March 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG), proud partner of Team USA and "proud sponsor of moms," today announced it will continue the ground-breaking 'Thank You Mom' program with the moms of the 2010 U.S. Paralympic Team and raise money for Team USA in an effort to have every mom in the U.S. thanked by Mother's Day.
P&G offered to help defray the cost of travel and accommodations for the mom of every Team USA athlete so they could see their children compete at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The company will continue the program with the 2010 U.S. Paralympic Team, offering a high level of financial support for all moms. P&G will also donate one U.S. dollar to Team USA – up to $100,000 – for moms thanked at www.thankyoumom.com through the end of the Paralympic Winter Games, which concludes on Sunday, March 21.
"The continuation of the P&G 'Thank You Mom' program that began in Vancouver last month at the Olympic Winter Games will allow us to extend our appreciation for the moms of the U.S. Paralympic Team," said P&G Chief Marketing Officer Marc Pritchard. "At P&G, our commitment to create an inclusive culture that provides the opportunity for employees with disabilities to perform at the highest level has inspired our support of U.S. Paralympians, their moms, and families. Our goal is to continue the campaign beyond these Games in an effort to thank every mom in the U.S. by Mother's Day."
Anyone can thank their mom or 'mom figure' at www.thankyoumom.com. For every mom who is thanked, P&G will donate one U.S. dollar to Team USA, to a maximum of $100,000, for athlete training.
"We're thankful P&G has continued its extraordinary commitment to the moms of Team USA by recognizing the moms of the 2010 U.S. Paralympic Team," said Charlie Huebner, Chief of Paralympics, U.S. Olympic Committee. "The P&G 'Thank You Mom' program speaks to the unmatched commitment that P&G has made to bring the families of Team USA together and will help the moms of the U.S. Paralympic Team support their children during this very special moment in their lives."
In an effort to have all the moms in the U.S. thanked by Mother's Day, P&G will invest in traditional and digital advertising, leverage their brand Facebook pages and promote the site in their brandSaver, which is distributed to 56 million households.
