Pfizer Senior Director of Scientific Software Development Joins Core Informatics
BRANFORD, Conn., Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Core Informatics, a leading provider of laboratory data management software, is pleased to announce a Senior Director of Scientific Development and Director of Business Operations from Pfizer has joined the Core team. Doug Phillips, after having worked at Pfizer as both a chemist and IT professional since 1982, has accepted the role of Sr. Director of Operations with Core. His training and expertise in the field will help fuel continued growth and development for Core, and promotes persistent advances in Core's configurable laboratory automation software systems.
Before joining Core, Doug Phillips was the Sr. Director of Scientific Informatics at Pfizer. During his time he led teams in the design, development and programming of IT systems for Pfizer's laboratories. He has participated in every aspect of laboratory management including high throughput screening and high throughput synthesis. His new role with Core Informatics is a perfect fit for Core, because he specializes in precisely what Core provides: big data, laboratory workflow optimization, and inventory and software management. Doug's history also boasts a BS in Chemistry and a Masters in Software Engineering from the University of New Haven.
