TRACY, Calif., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Petz Enterprises, Inc. (PEI), makers of the CrossLink suite of professional tax software solutions for high-volume retail tax offices, today announced support for two-dimensional (2D) barcode scanning for CrossLink 1040 and CrossLink Multi-Site Online.

"CrossLink customers can now start a return and capture all of the data on the Form W-2 or Schedule K-1 by simply scanning the 2D barcode on those forms with a CrossLink certified hand-held scanner," stated Charles Petz, CPA, Vice President of Tax Software Development. 2D barcodes are currently available on Schedules K-1, and will be available on W-2s beginning with Tax Year 2010. All CrossLink certified hand-held scanners have the ability to capture the data in the 2D barcode with 100% accuracy and automatically start the process of preparing a return.
