Petersen Group Selects Unisys to Digitally Transform its Core Banking System
The agreement calls for the creation of a new Unisys platform designed to enable integration with digital channels
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, March 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that its subsidiary in Argentina has signed a new agreement with three of the four banks of Petersen Group (Nuevo Banco de Entre Ríos, Banco de San Juan and Banco de Santa Cruz) – a financial services conglomerate in Argentina – to provide application modernization services for Unisys' Sistema Financiero Bancario y Sistema Contable Bancario (SFB/SCB) core banking system. The new platform is designed to better integrate within the banks' digital channels, including mobile banking.
The contract consists of three phases: upgrade of the development tool and platform; migration of the current core banking system to the new platform; and maintenance for both platform and core and teller applications.
"After three years of searching, we have found in the Unisys solution a technological platform that meets the applications architecture needs for the digital transformation required by the Banks," states David Estevez, CIO of Petersen Group.
"We know that the technology behind our operations is quite important and has a direct impact on the services we provide to our customers. In this project we were looking for a technological partner that could provide us with an end-to-end solution, from the design and migration to the new platform to the maintenance with high levels of service," commented Matias Eskenazi, Senior Vice President, Petersen Group.
The modernization effort is designed to provide greater flexibility and availability for the bank's platform, as well as making the banks' internal operations more efficient. In addition, it is designed to allow for clear integration and support within the bank's current systems and operating environments, with minimal impact or disruption for the end user. The modernization and the expansion of the new services provide the banks with a notable improvement in time-to-market of their commercial application requirements, in addition to benefiting customers by allowing them to operate more agile across digital channels.
"We are proud to help Petersen Group realize the benefits of modernization and to support the strategy of growth and renewal of their digital channels, including mobile," stated Unisys President and CEO Peter Altabef. "This system reflects the latest Unisys IP in financial services that will prove instrumental in helping Petersen Group Banks to achieve its business goals."
