Peter V. Darrow Joins DLA Piper's Corporate Finance Practice in New York
Veteran Banking Attorney Bolsters Firm's New York Corporate Finance and Emerging Markets Practices
NEW YORK, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- DLA Piper announced today that Peter V. Darrow has joined the firm's Corporate Finance practice as a partner in the New York office. Darrow joins DLA Piper from Mayer Brown, where he was a partner in the firm's Banking and Finance group for 25 years.
Darrow regularly represents issuers, underwriters and placement agents in cross-border securities offerings, including high-yield bonds, Eurobonds, medium-term notes and institutional private placements, as well as structured finance transactions in emerging markets. In addition, he regularly represents institutional lenders in secured and unsecured financings, including acquisition and leveraged financings. He also advises SEC-registered companies in complying with their disclosure obligations and counsels US hedge funds in their private equity investments and joint ventures.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Darrow was co-chair of the Latin American practice at Mayer Brown. Darrow's cross-border experience will be an asset to DLA Piper's growing practice in Latin America, where the firm recently announced a strategic cooperation agreement with Brazilian firm Campos Mello Advogados. Darrow is listed in the Guide to the World's Leading Capital Market Lawyers, and is also in Chambers Latin America 2009 and Chambers Banking and Finance in Latin American 2009. He is chairman of The Cambodia Trust, the leading provider of relief and rehabilitation support for landmine victims in Cambodia. He is also an officer and board member of the Trinity College, Oxford Society as well as a board member of Everyone Wins, a non-profit literacy and mentoring organization. He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School; B.A. from Columbia College and B.Phil from Trinity College, Oxford University.
