Personhood USA: Members of the Pelletier family will join the Free Justina Coalition at prayer vigil and witness in Framingham on Saturday
BOSTON, Feb. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lou Pelletier, Justina's father, is expected to join coalition members at the prayer vigil and public witness at the Framingham foster facility where Justina is being held. The coalition will hold a news conference before the vigil begins, to share current developments in the case.
The vigil will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 12:00 P.M. at the Wayside Youth Facility in Framingham, Massachusetts (1 Frederick Abbot Way, Framingham, MA 17017). Those assembled for the vigil will gather on the Lockland Ave. public sidewalk.
The prayer vigil and public witness will involve clergy, members of the faith community, and people of good will. The Free Justina Coalition stresses that Saturday's event is NOT a protest and will be out of view of the Wayside residents.
Reverend Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Washington D.C. based Christian Defense Coalition and vigil organizer said: "It is deeply troubling that as the Pelletier family gathers outside the facility to pray, they cannot go in and pray with Justina face-to-face. Instead, they have to remain several hundred yards outside. We're confident that our prayers for the speedy reunion of this family will be answered."
Keith Mason, President of Personhood USA, said: "It is important that we gather together to pray that Justina would be freed from state captivity. Justina is a person with dignity and rights. We pray that the state will treat her accordingly by allowing her to seek the proper treatment for her illness and returning her to her loving family."
Bethany Temple of IHOP Boston and Andrew Beckwith, President of the Massachusetts Family Institute, have also lent their support to the vigil.
