Personhood USA: After being denied visitation last year, Linda Pelletier plans to visit Justina on Linda's birthday

BOSTON, April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Last year, Justina Pelletier was not allowed to see her mother Linda on her mother's birthday. Justina has specifically requested to see her mother on her birthday, which is Wednesday, April 23.

Linda plans to travel to the Wayside facility where Justina is being held in order to visit with her daughter, regardless of the consequences. Linda has invited family spokesperson Rev. Patrick Mahoney to accompany her to Wayside tomorrow at 2:00 PM.

In an email yesterday to DCF and Justina's court-appointed attorney, Lou Pelletier wrote, "Justina has requested to us to see her mother, on Linda's birthday Wednesday April 23rd. Linda and Reverend Pat Mahoney are planning to go to Wayside to visit Justina tomorrow 4/23 @ 2 PM. Please confirm you have received this email and if you have any questions."

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, a Pelletier family spokesperson, said, "It is tragic that Justina Pelletier has been ripped from the loving arms of her family and over the past 14 months has not been able to celebrate birthdays and special holidays with her family. That takes a major toll on everyone in the family. Linda Pelletier is determined to attempt to see Justina on her birthday, which is what Justina wanted. Our hope and prayer is that DCF will allow a daughter to spend time with her mother on her mother's birthday and not treat Justina worse than a political prisoner."
