Perry Ellis Launches Limited-Edition Project Beach Polo to Support Gulf Coast Recovery
MIAMI, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Perry Ellis is asking consumers to wear their hearts on their sleeves with the launch of a limited-edition polo supporting Project Beach, an initiative created by the American fashion brand to raise funds and awareness for Gulf Coast recovery efforts in the wake of the BP oil spill.
The polo, which will be sold exclusively on PerryEllis.com, will raise up to $15,000 for non-profits working to restore the coastline impacted by the oil spill. Only 1,304 polos were made.
The shirt, fabricated in white cotton and embroidered with the initiative's pelican logo, is the second major component of Project Beach, which launched earlier this month with a fundraiser hosted on the Perry Ellis Facebook page. The Facebook fundraiser will raise up to $10,000 for oil spill clean up programs.
Perry Ellis is dedicated to the long-term recovery of the Gulf region and Project Beach will continue through the fall and into next year. The brand's September 13 fashion show at New York's Lincoln Center will recognize Project Beach, and Perry Ellis' Spring 2011 advertising campaign will be shot on the Gulf Coast — a first for the company.
