Performics Organizes First Ever Single Day Employee Volunteer Event
Nearly a Thousand Global Employees to Give Back to Local Communities
CHICAGO, June 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Performics, the performance marketing agency owned by Publicis Groupe, will deploy employees around the world in a 24-hour global community event designed to support their communities through volunteer initiatives.
"Our community efforts will begin where the sun rises in Asia and continue around the world in a continuous day of giving back. We know our workforce can make a significant impact in their local neighborhoods," said Daina Middleton, Global CEO of Performics. "The Performics team has always had a passion about giving back to our communities. This is true across 38 offices in 29 countries, and growing this initiative into a global event demonstrates our continued commitment toward corporate social responsibility."
Employees will participate in this one-day global event which provides an opportunity for Performics teams to come together to solve community issues larger than the everyday challenges seen behind office walls. While this is the first simultaneous global community event, Performics has annually held community events in their US offices. In August 2012, more than 200 volunteers from the agency's Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York offices spent a day participating in charitable activities such as feeding the hungry, painting public schools, fixing playgrounds and planting gardens. Several of Performics' strategic partners, BrightEdge, Covario, ion interactive and Yext sponsored this year's projects.
This year, some of the global projects include:
- Discouraging prejudice that often grows into greater problems, the NRW Macht Schule in Germany teaches elementary-aged students in deprived areas to accept different nationalities and cultures. The team in Dusseldorf will assist with activities to help the children gain a better understanding of and tolerance for these differences.
- Employees in New York will paint, landscape, and clean up the waterfront with the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative to help establish a new greenway route for cyclists and pedestrians.
- More than half of the 500 households in Thanh Hoa village, Vietnam, live in extremely poor and below average conditions. Twenty-five employees from Ho Chi Minh City will ride a bus for two and a half hours to visit with residents and deliver grocery packages to many of the homes.
- Bringing color and design into the lives of children helps them gain an appreciation for the arts. In India, Performics teammates will help children paint wall murals at the home of an organization that fosters the arts in young children.
More than 200 Chicago headquarters employees will divide up between five different projects – working with the blind and visually impaired at Chicago Lighthouse, landscaping, painting and caring for Head Start children at three local YMCAs, and assisting with school-age youth activities at the Elliott Donnelly Youth Center.
