Performance Trust Grows Investment Banking Team and Expands Capabilities

The addition of Mr. Shields reflects Performance Trust's continued expansion into Equity Capital Markets.  According to Richard S. In his new role, Mr. Shields will help Performance Trust expand upon current efforts to improve long-term performance and to deliver increased shareholder value for financial institutions. The firm's Investment Banking team is composed of investment banking professionals with over 150 collective years of financial services experience. They have completed over 170 bank deals representing over $40 billion in assets; 12 investment advisory deals with over $10 billion in AUM; and 11 insurance agency deals with over $60 million in revenue.

Mr. Shields joins Performance Trust after most recently serving as Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets and Head of Trading at Hovde Group. Throughout his career, Mr. Shields has led the efforts to build exceptional sales and trading desks and has assisted in the placement of over one billion dollars in capital for community banks nationwide through various investment strategies. 

Additionally, Mr. Shields has forged deep relationships with institutional investors and banks while leading them to fulfill their goals in the Equity Capital Markets sector.

Mr. Shields holds an MBA from The University of Georgia and a Bachelor's Degree in economics and legal studies from Ithaca College. He is based in Atlanta, GA.
