PALM BEACH, Fla., June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, May 30^th, Miami-based auction house Platinum Luxury Auctions completed its sixth consecutive auction sale in Vero Beach, Florida with the successful auction of a waterfront compound located in the popular Moorings community. The sale further extends Platinum's flawless auction record in the upscale Florida town.

On a partly sunny morning with spots of light rain, three bidders entered by way of a red carpet and gathered beneath an elegant white tent that was erected on the property grounds to serve as the bidding venue for the live auction. A fourth bidder - whose identity was confidential, although Platinum described him as a retired, hall of fame baseball player - participated in the auction via telephone. Ultimately, a woman with ties to Chicago became the high bidder for the property, just barely edging out the telephone bidder in the final moments of the 20-minute round of bidding.

While the sale price will not be released until the closing date in late June, Mr. Enriquez noted that the auction's reserve price of $1.25 million was "exceeded by a healthy margin."

After selling two large estates within Vero Beach's ultra-exclusive John's Island community in 2013 and 2014 – a feat which no firm had previously achieved within the vaunted development even once, let alone twice – Platinum then sold two oceanfront lots, followed by a working equestrian farm in the Spring of 2015, before selling its sixth consecutive Vero Beach property on Saturday.
