Pepco Energy Selected to Complete Energy Audit at the Executive Center Complex for the Georgia Governor's Mansion

ARLINGTON, Va., March 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pepco Energy, a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POM) and a leader in energy savings performance contracting, has been selected to conduct a comprehensive energy audit and energy savings analysis of the Governor's Mansion in Atlanta, Georgia.

Under the contract with the Georgia Building Authority, Pepco Energy will perform a physical audit of the mansion and ancillary buildings in order to identify baseline energy costs and usage of HVAC, lighting, water and energy management controls systems.  Energy conservation measures and renewable energy opportunities that improve efficiency, increase capacity and generate guaranteed savings will be evaluated and recommended for implementation.  

Also under consideration are building envelope improvements and window replacements, measures that can save energy and improve occupant comfort while also offering UV light protection for the Governor's Mansion's many historical paintings and antiques.

Such efforts support the Governor's Energy Challenge, a program with the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority that seeks to reduce energy consumption in state facilities by 15 percent by 2020.
