Pepco Energy Announces Two-year Operations and Maintenance Contract Renewal by MAA
ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POM) and a leader in energy savings performance contracting, has been awarded a two-year renewal contract with the Maryland Aviation Administration to provide operations and maintenance services to the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Martin State Airport.
Under the $14.8 million contract, which became effective November 1, 2010, Pepco Energy will have continued responsibility for the operations, maintenance and repair of all central utility plant, HVAC and controls system assets serving the two airports. Pepco Energy will also perform all on-site fire system alarm testing.

In September, Pepco Energy was also awarded a $20.6 million energy performance contract by the Maryland Aviation Administration that will generate over $2 million per year in energy savings at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Pepco Energy provides similar operations and maintenance services as part of its energy performance contracts with the Maryland Stadium Authority, the Military District of Washington, Baltimore City Schools and Government, Washington, D.C. Convention Center, Salisbury University and the North Carolina Department of Administration. Pepco Energy also owns and operates district thermal plants that serve customers in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware, as well as renewable landfill gas-to-energy projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic states.
