Annual Celebration of Hispanic Entertainment and Culture Comes to San Antonio for the First Time
Two-day Festival Will Feature some of the Biggest Names in Hispanic Entertainment
NEW YORK, April 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- People en Espanol will bring its "Festival" event—celebrating Hispanic entertainment, culture and community—to San Antonio, TX, on September 1 – 2, it was announced today by Monique Manso, Publisher of People en Espanol, and Julian Castro, the Mayor of San Antonio.
A weekend celebration of the hottest in Latino culture featuring concerts, celebrity appearances, family activities, workshops and more, People en Espanol's Festival is an annual event that will relocate from New York City to San Antonio for the first time. Festival San Antonio will now become a destination weekend for all things celebrating Latino heritage and culture.
San Antonio's Alamodome will host Festival's evening concerts festivities from 8 p.m. – Midnight, on Saturday, September 1, and Sunday, September 2. The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center will be the host site for the free to the public day-time activities, including celebrity appearances and panel discussions. From 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on September 1 and 2, visitors to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center can expect to catch Q&A sessions with celebrities, hear tips from leading industry experts on topics ranging from fashion to wellness, receive samples from event sponsors, and enter-to-win contests. Guest appearances will include motivational speaker and People en Espanol columnist, Maria Marin, and People en Espanol Fashion and Beauty Director, Kika Rocha.
The complete Festival weekend is expected to bring tens of thousands of visitors to the city of San Antonio and its famed downtown River Walk area.
