CLEVELAND, Feb. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Penton's ContractingBusiness.com has presented Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning based in Cedar Lake, Ind., with the 2016 Residential HVAC Contractor of the Year award.

Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning was founded in 1987 by the husband-and-wife team of Tom and Sue Krygsheld. Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning has grown to become a regional powerhouse for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning service and installations. Tom had started working for a local HVAC business after high school and did all he could to learn the business including, going on many service and installation calls as a helper with the more experienced technicians. A short time after earning his own HVAC license, Tom and Sue started their own business. Their first 'office' was their home, with a small parts shed in the backyard.

Almost 30 years later, Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning employs 18 people, and is adding new services and winning new customers under the direction of General Manager Kevin Frump, Operations Manager Steve Rottier, and Sales Manager Dan Krygsheld.
