Penton Showcases B2B Event Excellence At The Annual EXPO Industry Awards Gala
Penton Leaders, Shows and Initiatives Recognized at EXPO Magazine's ExpoNext Event
NEW YORK, June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Penton showcased business-to-business event excellence at the Annual EXPO Industry Awards Gala on June 19, 2013 at the Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore, held in conjunction with the ExpoNext conference. The event honored the best of the best in the tradeshow and events industry.

Sandy Voss, President of Exhibitions and COO, Lifestyle Division, and Adam Andersen, Show Director, Natural Products Expo West, were honored with EXPO Elite 2013 awards. The EXPO Elite honors the most creative-thinking individuals who have pushed the boundaries in their ever-evolving expo industry. Voss was recognized for increasing resource efficiency; implementing technology to drive 20 percent timesavings back to the operations staff; and launching a white label event revenue stream that has scaled across three Penton industries. Andersen was acknowledged for increased sponsorship revenue and attendance over the last five years; implementing green initiatives by eliminating paper show directories and badge holders, among other things; growing net square footage by nine percent since 2008.
Natural Products Expo, the world's largest and premier tradeshow for the natural, organic and healthy products industry, won two E.X.C.I.T.E. awards. In conjunction with partner GES, the "Best Green Event" award was won for novel innovation initiatives as well as addressing each production step, to ensure the most environmental friendly events with the lowest carbon footprints, while the "Best Overall Public Relations Campaign" award was won for implementing a multi-faceted strategy that engages a diverse media contingent with the show's exhibitors, and publicizing the show overall. The awards program was established to recognize excellence in tradeshows and expos.
Two Penton shows were named to the 25 Top Fast-Growth Shows of 2012 list. New Hope Media's Natural Products Expo West/Engredea, the only tradeshow that brings together the full food chain of supply to shelf, was ranked number 13 and WasteExpo, North America's largest trade event for the solid waste and recycling community, was ranked number 22.
In addition, New Hope Natural Media's Club Industry was a finalist in the "Best Use of Event Technology" category.
