Penton Media Announces Appointment of Bill Baumann to Post of Vice President, Market Leader

NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Penton Media announced today the appointment of Bill Baumann to the post of vice president over the Design Engineering and Electronics markets.  The two groups will be comprised of more than a dozen titles including Source ESB, Electronic Design and Machine Design.

"Bill has been a great asset to Penton for more than 20 years," said Bob McArthur, senior vice president for Penton's Industry Group.  "He has demonstrated a strong commitment to his brands in the Electronics Group and I am confident he will bring the same level of innovation to the Design Engineering Group."  

Baumann is eager to his expand his new role over both markets. "There are significant synergies between these two groups," shared Baumann.  "This move provides a Penton with the opportunity to expand its platform of products and better support customers in both of these markets."  

Mr. Baumann joined Penton in 1988 as a District Sales Manager on American Machinist magazine and continued to assume additional responsibilities on various titles for Penton throughout his career.  In 1992, his responsibilities expanded to Machine Design and he was eventually promoted to Group Publisher and Market Leader for the entire Electronics market at Penton.  Baumann is a graduate of University of Dayton.
