READING, Pa., Sept. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Penske Logistics will be the recipient of a Quest for Quality Award, in the Third-Party Logistics Value Added Warehousing and Distribution Solutions category, from Logistics Management magazine. Joe Carlier, Penske's Senior Vice President of Global Sales, will accept the honor at an awards dinner this evening as part of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' (CSCMP) annual conference in Kissimmee, Florida.
Michael Levans, Group Editorial Director, stated: "When you consider the challenging environment in which transportation and logistics service providers have had to manage over the past year, we believe that walking away with a Quest for Quality Award in 2016 is nothing less than a monumental achievement."
There were five areas that category entrants were scored in: customer service/value added services; order fulfillment; transportation/distribution; inventory management; and logistics information systems. Entries were completed by over 4,725 of the magazine's readers, and Penske Logistics received the highest weighted score of 53.98 in its category (the average score of the nine winners was 48.23).
"It is always a great honor to be recognized by our industry peers for providing outstanding services," explained Marc Althen, Penske Logistics President. "A Quest for Quality Award serves to reaffirm Penske's commitment to our customers."
