PennWell Names Klingele Oil & Gas Journal Publisher
TULSA, Okla., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- PennWell Corporation, a global business-to-business publisher and organizer of conferences & exhibitions, has hired Jim Klingele as publisher of Houston-based Oil & Gas Journal, the world's leading magazine for international news and technology for the petroleum industry with over 100,000 paid subscribers and published continuously since 1902.
Klingele will be based in Houston with responsibility for Oil & Gas Journal magazine, Oil & Gas Journal Online, and conferences & exhibitions including Oil Sands and Heavy Oil Technologies in Calgary this July, Oil & Gas Maintenance Technology in New Orleans in September, and October's Unconventional Gas event in Forth Worth. Klingele will report to Paul Westervelt, Vice President and Group Publishing Director.
Klingele comes to PennWell following a nine-year career at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), where he served as Senior Manager, Sales & Exhibits. He directed the revenue generation for SPE's trade shows and publications, including Offshore Technology Conference and JPT magazine, and was also responsible for digital media advertising and event operations. Prior to SPE, Jim was a sales executive for Realtor.com and Vice President, Sales for a nutraceuticals company in Dallas. He is a graduate of St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
