TULSA, Okla., March 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PennWell Corporation is pleased to announce its acquisition of The Pipeline + Energy Expo from Vacuworx, the Tulsa based engineering and manufacturing company. Since 2009, this midstream event has grown into the most comprehensive energy event in the region. Previously, it attracted nearly 1,500 attendees and over 100 exhibitors from 11 countries and 32 United States.
On April 4-6, 2017, PennEnergy will host the ninth annual Pipeline + Energy Expo at the Cox Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event is traditionally held in Tulsa. Once called "The Oil Capitol of the World," the city has played a unique historical role in the energy industry. Pipeline giants like T.D. Williamson, Williams Partners LP, ONEOK Partners LP, SemGroup Corp. and Magellan Midstream Partners LP are all headquartered in Tulsa. The new owner, PennWell, and other major firms such as WillBros Group also have local offices.
"We are delighted that PennWell has taken over this event, and to be partnering with a company that has the same values and commitment to Tulsa as our own. This is an incredible opportunity to highlight Oklahoma's continued role in the onshore energy industry," said Bill Solomon, event founder and CEO of Vacuworx.
For PennWell's CEO, Mark Wilmoth, hosting the event in Tulsa brings the history and success of PennWell full circle. "Beginning with the Oil & Gas Journal, Tulsa has been home to PennWell. Since then, we have grown globally, and now over sixty percent of our business is events, which are held in every corner of the globe. This conference and exhibition is special to us, in that it's in our backyard. This is the perfect chance to showcase PennWell in its hometown. The Pipeline + Energy Expo will connect leaders and experts from the production, refining, power generation and utility fields; both locally, and beyond the Midwest."
PennWell's diverse portfolio includes nearly sixty events worldwide each year and over 100 print and online magazines and newsletters. With the support of PennEnergy, the Oil & Gas Journal and the Oil & Gas Financial Journal, PennWell is able to leverage the synergy between its publications and trade shows. This is the kind of network that will not only draw global attention to the newly acquired event, but will grow its attendance.
Pipeline + Energy Expo offers a premier opportunity for energy professionals to learn, network and seek innovative products. Topics targeted by the two-day technical program are engineering, production, pipeline safety and integrity, optimization and efficiencies, and best practices. The exhibit floor will also allow visitors to experience new technology, live equipment demonstrations and network with those leading the energy industry.
