Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation's 3rd Annual Bark in the Park 5k Run and 1 Mile Dog Walk Is Scheduled For October 28 in Harrisburg
HUMMELSTOWN, Pa., Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF), the charitable arm of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, will host its 3rd Annual Bark in the Park 5k Run and 1 Mile Dog Walk on Sunday, October 28 on City Island in Harrisburg. All members of the public are invited to sign up and pledges gathered by runners will benefit The Last Chance Fund (TLC), a program of the Foundation.
The Last Chance Fund is a program which operates primarily on donations and provides funds for the treatment and care of injured or neglected unowned companion animals who might otherwise be euthanized or turned over to an overburdened shelter.
Socialized dogs are welcome to accompany their owners on race day. There will be prizes for the fastest runners as well as a costume contest for runners and dogs. If you would like more information or wish to sign up, please visit www.pavetfoundation.org.
