Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation to Host Bark in the Park 5k Run and 1 Mile Dog Walk October 26 on Harrisburg City Island
HUMMELSTOWN, Pa., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Sunday, October 26, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF) will host the 5th Annual Bark in the Park 5k Run & 1 Mile Dog Walk at the Riverview Pavilion on Harrisburg's City Island. All proceeds from the run will benefit PVF's The Last Chance Fund (TLC) which provides funding for the veterinary care of animals in need in Pennsylvania.
Registration begins Sunday at 7:00am, the 5k begins at 8:30am, and the 1 mile walk begins at 9:00am. Onsite registration is welcomed. Prizes will be given in several age ranges as well as the overall winner. The day also includes a Halloween costume contest for people and their dogs and a raffle. The Last Chance Fund was created in 2009 to help ensure a source of funding for the care of abused or neglected, unowned companion animals that might otherwise be euthanized or turned over to an animal shelter that is already overburdened.
