Pennsylvania State Police Seized Heroin and Other Prohibited Drugs Valued at $17 Million in the Fourth Quarter of 2016
HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) announced today that troopers confiscated $17,017,765 million in prohibited drugs in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Heroin continued to be prevalent in the final three months of the year. Troopers seized 32 pounds of heroin with an approximate street value of nearly $11 million in the fourth quarter. In addition, PSP took more than 75 pounds of cocaine — with a street value of over $3.6 million — off of Pennsylvania streets.
In 2016, PSP seized over $68 million in prohibited drugs including 100 pounds of heroin valued at $34.2 million.
