Pennsylvania Secretary of the Budget Issues Statement on Latest PSEA Claims
HARRISBURG, Pa., June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Secretary of the Budget Charles Zogby issued the following statement today in response to the latest false statements made by Mike Crossey, president of the Pennsylvania State Education Association:
"Once again, Mr.Crossey misrepresents opinion as fact when arguing against sound public policy.
"The PSEA's latest release is rife with self-serving mistruths and conjecture in just another attempt to cloud the issue at hand, sway legislative opinion and scare his membership.
"The Administration has provided detailed actuarial analyses to the Pennsylvania Employee's Retirement Commission on a defined contribution plan for new school district and public employees that demonstrates the need for pension reform.
"In the interest of full disclosure, I transmitted a complete actuarial package, including the opinions of the plans' consultants as evidence of my confidence in our data and approach to pension reform. I encourage the legislature to review the entire packet, so that it may make an informed decision about the future of the public pension system in Pennsylvania."
