Pennsylvania Revenue Department Releases September Collections
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania collected $2.7 billion in General Fund revenue in September, bringing fiscal-year-to-date collections to $6.7 billion, Secretary of Revenue Eileen McNulty reported today.
Sales tax receipts totaled $783 million for September, bringing the category's year-to-date total to $2.5 billion.
Personal income tax (PIT) revenue for the month was $1.2 billion, bringing the year-to-date total to $2.8 billion.
Corporation tax revenue was $517.9 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $650 million.
Inheritance tax revenue was $71.5 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $228 million.
Realty transfer tax revenue was $36.2 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $136.8 million.
Other General Fund tax revenue – including cigarette, malt beverage, liquor, and table games taxes – totaled $121.5 million in September, bringing the year-to-date total to $351.5 million.
Non-tax revenue totaled $23 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $80.4 million.
In addition to the General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $223.6 million for the month. Fiscal year-to-date collections for the fund – which includes the commonly known gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine and fee revenues – total $676.7 million.
September collection data does not include a comparison against anticipated amounts because monthly revenue estimates are not yet finalized.
