Pennsylvania Lottery to Launch MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB™ Lottery Game 'Making More & More Millionaires'
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Oct. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Lottery will launch sales of the multi-state MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB™ Lottery game on Sunday, Oct. 19. This exciting, $5 draw game will spread the wealth among players by offering multiple million-dollar prizes in conjunction with a Top Prize of $15 million to $25 million.
With three different ways to win, MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB Lottery game will determine winners through drawings held each Friday at 11:15 p.m. The first drawing will take place Oct. 24.
"Our players have long asked for a game that offers a number of substantial prizes instead of just one or two players winning an enormous jackpot," said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Sil Lutkewitte. "This new game was inspired by the simple idea of 'Making More & More Millionaires.'"
The game's unique design is expected to create more millionaires than any other game in lottery history. Initially, it will be sold by Pennsylvania and 22 other lotteries, with additional lotteries expected to join in the future.
Players can win the Top Prize; become one of the many, randomly-selected $1 million winners when another player wins the Top Prize; or register a ticket online where they will build MONOPOLY-themed Property Sets to earn entries in a drawing for a chance to appear on the nationally televised game show launching in 2015.
How to Play: Players select five numbers from a pool of 52, choosing their own numbers or using the "quick pick" option to have their numbers randomly generated. A Property Number from 1 to 28, which corresponds to a Property on the MONOPOLY game board, is automatically generated by the terminal. To win the Top Prize, the player must match all five numbers drawn plus the Property Number. The odds of winning the Top Prize are approximately 1 in 73 million. There are also nine other ways to win in each drawing, with prizes ranging from $5 (for matching two of the first five numbers) up to $100,000 (for matching the first five numbers).
The Millionaires' Club Drawing: Any time the Top Prize is won, it will immediately trigger a separate Millionaires' Club drawing for at least 10 prizes of $1 million. Each ticket will include a unique Millionaires' Club number. If a player's Millionaires' Club number is selected, that player wins one of the $1 million prizes being awarded that week. If the Top Prize is not won, it will continue to increase in value until it reaches $25 million. For as long as no one wins the Top Prize, the number of $1 million prizes available will grow until someone wins the Top Prize. Winning Millionaires' Club numbers will be published online at www.palottery.com.
TV Game Show Entry Webcode: Each MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB Lottery game ticket will feature a unique entry code that players can use to register their tickets online for a chance to appear on the nationally televised game show launching in early 2015. Thousands of players will win a five-day, four-night trip for two to Las Vegas to join the show's studio audience of other players. Some studio audience members will be selected at random to compete on the show. Contestants will play a series of MONOPOLY-themed games, each of which will offer cash and other prizes valued up to $100,000. One player on each episode will get a shot at $1 million.
Although the TV game show does not launch immediately, players may start submitting entry codes and building Property Sets right away. Be sure to submit codes at www.palottery.com prior to claiming a prize.
