Pennsylvania Lottery Hosts Live Evening Drawing From Farm Show

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Amid hundreds of spectators at the 95th Pennsylvania Farm Show, Secretary of Revenue C. Daniel Hassell served as guest drawing official as the Pennsylvania Lottery conducted its live, 6:59 p.m. drawing in the Farm Show Large Arena tonight.

This is the eighth consecutive year the Lottery broadcast its live evening drawing from the Farm Show. Including tonight's drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery has conducted 11,725 live, televised drawings.

Three Lottery drawing officials, a certified public accountant, an accountant, two senior citizens serving as witnesses, a camera crew and an announcer participate in each evening drawing. Each official evening draw is preceded by 12 test draws and followed by three post-draws, which are conducted to certify the performance of the drawing equipment and the randomness of the official winning numbers.

Visitors to the Farm Show can purchase Lottery tickets and learn more about the programs funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery at the Lottery's exhibition booth, open throughout Farm Show and located in the Main Hall near the Commonwealth Commons, just inside the Maclay St. entrance on the west end of the building.
