Pennsylvania Governor Corbett, other Governors, Call on President Obama to Avoid Cuts to National Guard

WASHINGTON, March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today released a copy of a National Governors Association letter to President Obama, signed by 50 governors across the country. The letter opposes potential cuts to the Army National Guard advocated by the U.S. Army's fiscal 2015 budget request.

"The National Guard plays a pivotal, cost effective role in protecting Pennsylvanians," said Governor Corbett. "As we've seen with the recent weather related emergencies, as well as the flooding we experienced in 2011, the Pennsylvania National Guard is a critical part of our response to domestic natural disasters and emergencies."
